Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone, besides Gordon and myself, have bought tickets for this concert?

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone, besides Gordon and myself, have bought tickets for this concert? Graham Well, it could be quite an intimate evening if there are only two of you in the audience ;D You might have to join the choir. I will be heading west on Saturday

Hi Martin and All,
Here follows my report on last nights concert.
Graham and I met around 4.45 near the theatre and after enjoying a coffee we visited The Apex and noticed Laura and her family in the foyer along with Kathryn. We exchanged waves from outside and then went for a meal. Around 7pm we returned to the theatre and purchased programmes for £1 each.Unfoturnately the printer had put them togther incorrcectly showing the second half first but this was apologised for at the intrduction to the concert. The fornat for each half was the same with selections from The St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir followed by four songs fronm Laura, more from the Choir and a jont performance at the end. This was a charity concert with the proceeds being divided between Cancer Research UK and Moreton Hall Youh Club which Laura used to attend at one stage. Graham and I had seats in the middle of the front row which was very close to the stage and for her first set Laura appeared wearing a sparkly white gown and explained that it was the first time she would be singing these songs in public. The songs were; Locked Out of Heaven Love and Affection Like Someone In Love Wild is the Wind. This songs had a jazzy laid back feel and were performed with piano accompaniment. At the end of the concert Laura told us that she had received a positive respose for these from people speaking to her at the end of the show. Apon retuning for the end of the first half Laura wore a knee length gold dress and with the Choir performed Easter Hymn, another first for Laura. In the second half Laura wore an orange gown and her solos were; Jerusalem I Vow to Thee My Country Someone To Watch Over Me The Last Rose. For the closing number with the Choir Laura added a white rose to her gown, which matched those worn by the Choir. This song was The Rose and with the audience wanting more they gave a repeat performance to conclude a show which started at 7.30 and did not end until 10.30.This had been an excellent evenings entertainment and Laura made herself available after the concert. Graham and I waited until the end of the queue for a chat with Laura and she advised us that she would be recording a new album in August. Laura signed our programmes and posed for some photos before we went our separate ways home and Laura was off to America the following day. Hopefully Graham will be posting some photos in due couse. None were taken during the concert but we managed a few at the very end.

Hi Gordon and Graham Thanks for the report and great photos.
"Locked Out of Heaven" is a song by Bruno Mars, "Love and Affection" a classic by Joan Armatrading, "Like Someone In Love" has been recorded by Ella Fitzgerald and "Wild is the Wind" by David Bowie. What a great eclectic mix.
Cheers Martin

Hi all, Here is Laura singing 'Easter Hymn' with the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir. The quality isn't great but thought you might like to hear it. Easter Hymn - Laura Wright.mp3Graham
